How to get tickets for Reading and Leeds Festival 2021: Line-up, dates and everything else you need

Reading and Leeds festivals will go ahead this summer, organisers have confirmed.

The announcement comes two days after Boris Johnson unveiled the UK’s roadmap out of lockdown, which suggests all limits on social contact could be removed on 21 June.

The festivals’ official Twitter page posted on Wednesday morning: “Following the Government’s recent announcement, we can’t wait to get back to the fields this summer. LET’S GO.”

The message was accompanied by a video of crowds dancing to music at previous festivals.

Last year’s festivals were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

When are Reading and Leeds festivals 2021?

The festivals are scheduled for the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 August.

The three-day festivals have the same line-ups, but with acts performing on different days.

Who is performing at the festivals?

Stormzy, Post Malone and Liam Gallagher are set to headline the festivals.

Lewis Capaldi, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Disclosure and Queens of the Stone Age are among the other major acts to have been confirmed.

More big names on the line-up include AJ Tracey, Mabel, Two Door Cinema Club, Doja Cat, The Wombats, DaBaby and KSI.

How can I get tickets?

If you had a ticket to Reading or Leeds 2020, you should have been given the option to roll your booking over to 2021.

However, it is still possible for you to get a ticket even if you did not have one for last year.

Both weekend and single day tickets are currently on sale at Ticketmaster for both festivals.

A weekend ticket costs £232.20, while a single day booking costs £81.50.

Glastonbury cancellation

Reading and Leeds’ positive news comes a month after Glastonbury Festival – Europe’s largest – announced it would not go ahead in 2021.

Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis said: “With great regret, we must announce that this year’s Glastonbury Festival will not take place, and that this will be another enforced fallow year for us.”

Tickets for Glastonbury 2021 will roll over to next year.
