It’s a big week for Liam Gallagher, as yesterday marked the 25th anniversary for Oasis’ debut album Definitely Maybe and today he has confirmed that he will be playing a special gig in his hometown of Manchester next month.

It will take place on 21 September, which is his birthday and is also the day after his second solo album, Why Me? Why Not, is released.

The birthday show will be hosted at the O2 Ritz, which holds special significance.

Liam’s last performance at this venue was in 2017, a week after the Manchester terror attack, when he paid homage to the 22 people who tragically lost their lives with 22 lit candles around the stage.

Fancy going along and listening to a Manchester treasure? Here’s how to get tickets.

Tickets sales open today (30 August) at 9am on the Radio X website.

It’s a very small gig, so if you want to get your hands on a pair, you’ll have to be quick.

There will also be a special guest joining Liam on stage for his 47th birthday – namely, Sam Fender, who performed a cover of Oasis’ Morning Glory at Shepherd Bush Empire in May this year.

If you’re not free that date, there’s also the option to tag along to one of the dates available on Liam’s UK tour.

He’ll be visiting Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool and, of course, Manchester.
