How to get the Spotify Wrapped 2019 ‘my year in review’ feature and see your most played songs and artists

Spotify Wrapped – which shows all the songs, albums and podcasts you have been streaming – is now available.

You can now access your listening history from throughout the year, covering artists and songs streamed, as well as how many minutes were spent using Spotify in 2019.

There is also a new A Decade Wrapped feature which showcases the songs, albums, artists and podcasts people tuned in to over the past 10 years.

The company itself launched in 2006, so there’s a high chance you will have been using the streaming service throughout the 2010s.

How to find your Spotify Wrapped 2019 data:

  1. Head to Spotify.com/wrapped

  2. Connect up your Spotify account

  3. Then the website will take you through your 2019 listening history, covering artists and songs you listened to, down to how many minutes you spent listening to Spotify in 2019

  4. Alternatively, head to the Spotify app on your smartphone or tablet to see all the data as well as your Top 100 playlist of your most-streamed songs of the year

The Spotify Wrapped feature doesn’t just compile your personal listening habits but also groups together the music streamed by its 217 million+ customers throughout the year to create the annual Spotify Wrapped list.

For Spotify Wrapped 2019’s annual list, Post Malone managed to knock Drake off his top spot as the most-streamed artist, thanks to his fans playing over 6.5 billion streams around the globe. Gen Z-favourite Billie Eilish came in second, with 6 billion streams, whilst her album, When we all fall asleep, where do we go? was the most-played album of the year – the first time a woman’s album has topped the Spotify Wrapped chart.

Eilish hasn’t only climbed to the top of the Spotify charts, this week she also been named Apple Music’s global artist of the year, as well as songwriter of the year which she will share with her brother Finneas, at the streaming service’s inaugural Apple Music awards

When it comes to UK artists, Ed Sheeran has been crowned the most successful British streaming artist of the decade.

The biggest podcast on Spotify this year was The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory and Mal, knocking the German podcast Fest und Faluschig (Feast and Fluffy) down to fourth space after it topped the list last year.

True crime hit, My Favourite Murder, came in second. The weekly podcast, hosted by comedians Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, released its first episode in 2016. Each week the duo discuss a different murder, before signing off with “Stay sexy, don’t get murdered.”

The most popular podcast genres included comedy, society and culture, true crime, news, and health and fitness. Keep that in mind when you’re launching your podcast in 2020.
