Okay, so it’s not the best offer if you’re eating alone but it’s worth it if you’re ordering in a pair or feeding the family.

The way it works is that once you’ve created your order on the app, you’ll need to go to the deals tab and select the discount to “add to mobile orders”.

The cash will automatically be deducted at the checkout, depending on whether you spent £10 or £20.

The app is free to download on android and Apple devices, but you’ll need to register an account before you can order anything.

What you need to know before signing up to any reward scheme

THERE are thousands of different loyalty schemes and reward cards available – so you need to make sure you know what you’re signing up for

  • By signing up for a loyalty card, a retailer will get a lot of information about you and your shopping habits. The data might be shared within its group of companies to target you with offers and advertising.
  • If a firm goes bust, you will lose your points, which have no cash value. Hoarding points also means you risk losing them if a retailer or restaurant shuts your account after a long period of inaction.
  • Read the terms and conditions carefullly some retailers and restaurant will have expiration dates on certain offers (for example you might have limited amount of time to spend your extra points).
  • Don’t choose where to shop or where to eat based on a store’s loyalty scheme. If there is a particular item you want, shop around rather than head straight for the retailer where you have a loyalty card. In a restaurant check some of the special deals or menus – they might be better value than the loyalty scheme.
  • Beware of spending more simply because you have a loyalty card and don’t buy something just for any bonus points you may earn.

You will have to provide some details such as your name and email address, which may be used to target you with advertising.

But ordering your meal through the app doesn’t mean that it will be delivered to your door.

You have to pick it up at your local participating store, or opt for table service if you’re already in branch when you place your order.

If you want your food delivered, you’ll have to place your order through UberEats UK.

The offer is valid from today through to 23:59pm on August 11 2019.

You will only be able to get the discount once, and you have to be at least 16 years old or older to qualify.

Out of the 1,200 branches of McDonald’s in the UK, only 127 branches accept the offer though.

You can find out whether your local branch is participating in the promotion here.

Today, The Sun exclusively revealed that McDonald’s hated “eco-friendly” paper straws cannot be recycled but it’s axed plastic ones can be.

Hundreds of Brits queued outside a branch of the fast food chain in Manchester to try the new spicy McNuggets ahead of their official launch on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, McDonald’s announced it is extending breakfast hours in 115 restaurants.

World’s smallest McDonald’s opens – but it’s too tiny for you to go inside
