How plane food compares in business class and economy on airlines including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic


PLANE food can be one of the worst parts of flying, with passengers complaining about everything from flavourless meals and sad-looking snacks.

However, the cabin class you’re flying in can make a huge difference to what you’re being served.

Of course, they generally get better the more you pay for your flight.

But are they really fancy enough to worth the extra money you’re paying?

According to Nicky from The Points Guy UK, depending on the airline, the difference may not be as big as you think.

On Emirates for example, both economy and business class meals are served on proper dishes and not foil trays.

Can you make plane food taste better?

According to an Oxford professor, wearing noise-cancelling headphones can make food taste better during a flight.

This is because low-pitched noises, such as the engine, can make meals taste more bitter.

One celebrity swears by putting Tabasco sauce on plane food to prevent it from being too bland.

Picking meal options like stews, casseroles or fried rice can help as they can withstand being reheated.

And when it comes to desserts, ice cream is your best bet.
