Reality TV stars are known to cash in on their fleeting fame as Instagram influencers.

And according to in-demand celebrity publicist Max Markson, his Married At First Sight clients have the capability to earn up to $300,000 per year.

Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, Max said he tells MAFS stars to maximise their profile as much as they can while they’re hot, or they will quickly become irrelevant.

Despite the 2020 season only in its third week, Max already has seven contestants on his books, including Natasha Spencer, Hayley Vernon and Steve Burley.

Hayley has even admitted to contacting Max to represent her before she was officially selected for the controversial experiment.

The 2020 cast has seen what Max can do in terms of raising profiles and incomes from witnessing the rise of his former MAFS top earners Jessika Power, Cyrell Paule and Mike Gunner.

‘From a financial point of view, I tell them: ‘Your income is going to be from Instagram posts and it’s going to happen for you immediately for only a couple of months.’ They will also earn from appearances.’  ,

To maximise the platform they have while on the ratings juggernaut that is MAFS, Max says he encourages his clients to do as much as they can while they’re on the show to cement their profile.

Max says a reality TV star can easily earn $5000-$9000 a week from a couple of sponsored Instagram posts and appearance fees, which can add up to a yearly salary of $300,000.

The publicist said it was clear not all contestants were only after love on the dating series: ‘Of course they want or need to become Instagram famous post-show.’

Max says Jessika Power was earning $90,000 a year working in the mining industry before her appearance on the 2019 season of MAFS, but is now earning more money as a full-time influencer.
