Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his wife, former model and writer, Juliette ‘Jools’ Norton are celebrating 20 years of marriage this year.

This is some good news for the couple who have had a difficult few years with Jamie’s restaurants going into administration.

Jools shared the milestone with followers on her Instagram page, posting clips of the couple to the soundtrack of Dusty Springfield’s ‘I Only Want to be With You.’

Jamie Oliver’s net worth, restaurants and TV shows

Oliver’s reported net worth is estimated to be over £240 million – a staggeringly large sum which is largely the result of of his cookbooks and restaurants.

However, according to The Telegraph, between 2014 and 2017, Oliver had lost £90m.

In late 2019, Oliver’s restaurant empire went into administration.

Eventually, his Jamie’s Italian branches shut 22 sites as part of a Company Voluntary Agreement and steakhouse chain Barbecoa went into a pre-pack administration.

On the subject of preparing to call in administrators to save his restaurants, Oliver 43, said: ‘I am deeply saddened by this outcome and would like to thank all of the staff and our suppliers who have put their hearts and souls into this business for over a decade.

‘I appreciate how difficult this is for everyone affected. I would also like to thank all the customers who have enjoyed and supported us over the last decade, it’s been a real pleasure serving you.

Oliver bounced back though, and has gone on to record another TV show during lockdown.

How did Jamie Oliver and Jools meet?

Jools and Jamie are childhood sweethearts and met growing up in Essex.

Jools, now a co-designer of the children’s lifestyle brand Little Bird by Jools, was a former model and married Oliver at All Saints Church in Rickling, Essex in 2000.

How many children do Jamie Oliver and Jools have?

Oliver, 45, and Jools, 45, share five children together: Poppy, 18, Daisy, 17, Petal, 11, Buddy, 9, and three-year-old River.

In her social media post reflecting on the pair’s 20 years of marriage, Jools wrote: ’20 exciting, happy, fun wonderful years married to my best friend. We were due to renew our wedding vowels this summer but that can wait! 20 years married but together 27 years my first true love [sic].’

She also made a touching reference to her children, and her miscarriages.

She wrote: ‘We have created 5 wonderful children and lost our 5 little stars in the sky. Thank you for loving me the way you do. We did it, on to the next chapter x.’
