How Man Utd could line up under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – if he lands his targets

So now we know who’s in charge, the next step is to build a team good enough to challenge.

Manchester United fans are excited about the future – and if their new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gets who he wants this summer, there’s every reason to be.

The new full-time United boss has some big ideas and the board have promised to back his vision.

If he gets his way in the transfer market during the close season, there’s no reason not to believe the club can challenge for the Premier League title once again.

Here’s the team we think Solskjaer could be planning to piece together.

United need a right-back and Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been a sensation

GK: David de Gea

The goalkeeper signing a new deal would be just as huge news as their biggest summer signing.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace will want serious money for their young star but he could be an incredible investment going on his form this season.

CB: Victor Lindelof

He’s come on leaps and bounds under the new manager and just needs the ideal partner.

Carlo Ancelotti says Kalidou Koulibaly isn’t leaving Napoli but money talks

CB: Kalidou Koulibaly

Don’t tell Carlo Ancelotti but it’s very unlikely United are going to take his ‘not for sale’ as an answer.

LB: Luke Shaw

He’s had a good season and finally seems to be injury free and back to the full-back we know he is.

CM: Paul Pogba

A player transformed and having at one point seemed on his way, he is now critical to the club’s future.

Fans see Ander Herrera as a huge part of their team – and want him to stay

CM: Ander Herrera

Now he knows who’s in charge, could the promise of a title push next season keep him in Manchester?

AM: Jesse Lingard

There’s no doubt he would fit into this new-look team perfectly.

RW: Jadon Sancho

If United can pull off the transfer of the summer then hope suddenly hope turns to expectation.

Everyone wants a piece of Jadon Sancho it seems

CF: Romelu Lukaku

Solskjaer says there’s so much more to come from the centre-forward. He’d love this team.

LW: Marcus Rashford

If United can keep him out of Barcelona’s clutches then what a formidable attack they would have.
