The Liverpool squad are said to be hopeful uncertainty about the Premier League season continuing will be cleared up on Thursday, according to reports.

League chiefs are holding a crisis meeting to determine how to salvage a season that looks likely to be further suspended.

Club action has been halted until the start of April, but the UK government has warned the coronavirus threat will only increase in the next month.

After UEFA decided to postpone this summer’s European Championships, the Athletic claim players and staff at Liverpool are feeling uncertain about the future.
