Housebuilder appoints new boss for Scotland



Housebuilder  Avant Homes  has promoted Scott Varley to the newly created role of area managing director for Scotland and north east England.

Varley joined Avant Homes in 2006 as regional land manager for the group’s Yorkshire business and became land director in 2010. In 2014 he was promoted to managing director of Avant Homes North East where he has driven strong growth and performance.

Avant Homes’ Scotland and North East operations employ 350 people in Stirling and Sunderland, and have 26 developments under construction, delivering 1000 units a year.

Varley said: “I am hugely excited to take up this new role working across Scotland and north east England. Both are excellent businesses with a passionate workforce and lots of potential for further growth. My focus will be to drive both businesses forward with an intelligent land strategy and the continuous improvement of our product, people and processes.”

Privately owned Avant Homes also operates in Yorkshire and the Midlands, and aims to double output to 4,000 homes a year and become a £1 billion turnover business by 2023.
