The agreement will see Robertson Homes build 53 four, five and six-bedroom properties. Building work is to start shortly, with the first homes expected to be released for sale early next year.
This takes the total number of homes contracted to be built in the second phase of the Winchburgh masterplan to 146.
WDL said further negotiations are under way with additional developers to conclude agreements that will account for 50% of the phase two housing programme, scheduled to deliver a total of 1,000 new homes by 2025.
WDL is responsible for developing the Winchburgh masterplan on a site over 352 hectares. It said it will create at least 3,450 new homes, including 700 affordable houses, 400 of which will be for social rent.
Infrastructure will include schools, a new town centre, improved transport links, a marina, a district park and at least 35 acres of employment land.
John Hamilton, chief executive officer of WDL, said: “The contract with Robertson is an important step towards delivering the 1,000 new homes we will complete in the second phase of residential building at Winchburgh.”
Tony Rankin, land director at Robertson Homes, added: “Winchburgh is such a beautiful rural location and with a mature tree belt on one side and rolling countryside views on the other, combined with the easy commuting distance to Edinburgh it is the perfect setting for our executive family homes.”
