HOTEL Chocolat is selling a mint chocolate liqueur drink that has real chocolate melted into it – and it tastes like After Eights.
The drink is described as a “an after-dinner mint and drinkable digestif all in one” and contains real cream and 70 per cent dark chocolate.
This minty treat, which is sold in 500ml bottles, is a rather pricey purchase at £25.
In comparison, a 500ml bottle of Baileys Chocolat Luxe costs just £12 in Tesco, less than half the price.
But Hotel Chocolat’s mint chocolate cream liqueur does promise high quality with 70 per cent dark chocolate, vodka, real cream and fragrant mint oils.
The mint liqueur was shared on the NewfoodsUK Instagram account, and many shoppers were excited to give the liqueur a try.
One said: “Yes at last, been waiting ages for this” while another commented: “Bet this is amazing”.
Users also speculated that the liqueur tastes like After Eight chocolate thins, which are also made with dark chocolate and peppermint oil.
The liqueur is new this year, and can be bought both in store and via the Hotel Chocolat website.
It is recommended that you serve the drink over ice, but it can also be added to desserts, hot chocolates and cocktails.
Baileys did launch a mint chocolate version of its cream liqueur back in 2005, but the flavour has since been discontinued.
