Homes Under the Hammer fans fuming as show delayed over Prince Charles news


Fans of hit property show Homes Under The Hammer were less than impressed with the schedule shake-up following the breaking news Prince Charles has contracted coronavirus.

Despite the severity of the announcement, viewers of the programme were fuming at the decision to delay the show.

Taking to social media, fans vented their frustration at the cancellation of the programme as the quick news segment confirmed the Prince of Wales had tested positive for the bug.

Not happy with the BBC, many hit back at the TV network for letting the breaking news slot run into the regularly scheduled auction programme, and called Prince Charles “selfish”.

One social networker exclaimed: “So BBC are really interrupting Homes Under The Hammer for Prince Charles?! Couldn’t he have waited till after to announce this.”

“Went to put Homes Under the Hammer on, but the BBC has decided to show us endless footage of the royal family because Prince Charles has tested positive. So have many others and we have enough news coverage of it! B***dy hell,” another exclaimed.

“Been waiting 20 minutes for Homes Under the Hammer to start and selfish Prince Charles has ruined it,” a third fumed.

Prince Charles has ‘mild coronavirus symptoms’ according to a spokesperson

The angry tweets just come minutes after BBC broke the news Prince Charles has been taken ill with the virus.

A Clarence House spokesperson said the 71-year-old has “mild symptoms” but “otherwise remains in good health”.

The Duchess of Cornwall, 72, has been tested but does not have the virus.

A Clarence House statement read: “In accordance with government and medical advice, the prince and the duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.

“The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire, where they met the criteria required for testing.

“It is not possible to ascertain from whom the prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”

They also insisted the Queen hasn’t been in contact with her son since 12 March.
