SHOPPERS who like a tropical kick to get them out of bed in the morning might want to try new Shreddies that taste of coconut.
Limited edition boxes of the cereal, which promise to “unlock morning energy”, have been spotted in Home Bargains stores.

We’ve asked Nestle, the brand behind Shreddies, and Home Bargains for the size of the box, but Home Bargains says it costs £2.09 and is available while stocks last in most stores.
We couldn’t find the packs being sold at any other major retailers online.
In comparison, a 415g box of Original Shreddies can currently be found cheapest at Tesco costing £2.10, while Asda is selling limited edition 460g boxes of Coco Caramel Shreddies for £2.99.
The latest addition to Shreddies’ line-up was spotted by Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, where a post on it has received 1,200 likes and 2,500 comments at the time of writing.
One shopper said: “They look delicious, going to have a look out for them.”
While another person tagged a friend and wrote: “May have to make a trip over here. We both love coconut”. Someone else added: “Omg I need to try these!”
But others say the breakfast treat isn’t as nice as it sounds. One shopper wrote: “Can’t taste the coconut disappointed”.
Someone else added: “I love coconut and nearly bought these but there is no coconut in them – it’s coconut flavour”.
Another shopper quipped: “Who even thinks, got an idea, lemme make a cereal no one will like just like when Bounties were made and still stocked, yet pretty much also no one likes”.
Others say they taste just like Frosted Shreddies – “I bought these, they didn’t taste much of coconut, they taste just like Frosted Shreddies. Don’t waste your money anyone,” wrote one shopper.
Someone else added: “They just taste like Frosted Shreddies, don’t bother”.
Nestle says the cereal is made with wholegrain wheat, but the ingredients list does reveal that coconut is simply a flavouring rather than dried chunks or flakes of the fruit.
There are 147 calories per 40g serving. An adult man should eat around 2,500 calories a day while it’s 2,000 for a woman, according to NHS guidelines.
