Joey Essex, 28, appeared on This Morning recently where he ended up chatting to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about his age.
During his appearance, the reality star “tricked” the hosts, as they couldn’t get their head around how old he is as he said he’s 30 next year, despite being 28-years-old now.
Joey, who threw an epic party with the help of Desperados recently, told Express.co.uk he had never seen Holly so “shocked” before.
Speaking about the hilarious moment, he said: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so shocked in my life to be honest.”
“No one can outsmart me,” he continued. “I’m the smartest guy on the planet, people think Joey Essex is stupid but really, they’re actually stupid.”
On This Morning, Phillip quizzed Joey: “You’re 28 now?” to which Joey confirmed his age before adding: “I’m 30 next year.”
Phillip was brought to a sudden halt as he became confused and realised the reality star’s age didn’t add up.
“No, you’re not,” Holly exclaimed, before she said to him he was 28 so there was no way he could be 30 next year.
“I’m 30 next year,” Joey confirmed as Phillip asked: “What happened to 29?” with Holly adding: “You skipping that one?”
However, Joey confirmed he would be 29 later this year with the presenters suddenly laughing as they understood what he was saying.
“Did I just trick you?” Joey asked as Holly remarked: “Yes, you did,” before bursting into hysterics over the blunder.
Joey admitted he “enjoys” being on the ITV programme and has worked closely with Phillip over the years.
“Phil did the narrator for Educating Essex so me and Phil really get on but yeah we work together quite a lot. It’s nice to see familiar faces when you go on TV,” he said.
“Been working with them since I first came on TV, so nice to be around them.”
Joey was recently busy throwing an incredible party with his celebrity guests after it was revealed millennials don’t know how to throw one.
The former TOWIE favourite was challenged by Desperados to throw an epic party at his house, to which Joey revealed he “took it to the next level”.
Speaking about what it takes for a party to be epic, he spilled: “Obviously you need good ingredients. Desperados helped with that. Then the clothes, people dresing good, looking sexy… Had a pool party because the weather was so good, having a guest list and having security.”
“Need an Instagrammable set up, we set it up to be very Instagrammable,” he added.
“We had palm trees, floats, you name it,” Joey continued. “Music was pumping! Defintiely one to remember, really enjoyed myself.”
Love Island stars, Laura Anderson and Tom Walker, plus TOWIE favourites, Diags and Chloe Sims were also in attendance at the party.
