Holly Willoughby hair: This Morning beauty reveals the truth about her famous blonde 'do

Holly Willoughby, 38, is known for her signature golden mane and her stylish fashion sense. The This Morning host began her career as a model at the age of 14, going on to pose for girls’ magazines including Mizz and Just Seventeen throughout her teens. She later moved in to TV, presenting the BBC’s factual children’s show Xchange and CBBC at the Fame Academy in her early days. Her big break came with CITV’s Ministry of Mayhem with Stephen Mulhern, now 42, in 2004, with the title later changing to Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown.

However, it was through Dancing On Ice and ITV’s topical magazine show This Morning that Holly cemented her place as a household name.

She joined Phillip Schofield, 57, on the This Morning sofa three years after they first teamed up for the skating competition and they have been a powerhouse duo ever since.

In addition to her hosting skills, Holly is known for her stunning beauty and style.

In particular, her blonde hair has become a staple part of her look.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan in a newly unearthed interview, the mother-of-three, who recently released her latest collection with Marks and Spencer, made a somewhat surprising revelation about her hair.

Asked what her natural colour was, she admitted: “Dark blonde, I guess. Or a sort of mousy brown.

“That kind of in between, nondescript colour,” she added.

“Definitely not a nice brown, or I probably would have stuck with that,” she quipped.

“My whole family are brunettes – my mum had almost black hair. Really beautiful, light eyes, black hair, gorgeous.

“And I just had this sort of mousy slightly nothing-y coloured hair,” Holly continued.

The This Morning star went on to speak about times gone by when she sported a dramatically hair ‘do.

“I have dyed my hair other colours throughout the years,” she said.

“When I was younger I was a bit more experimental.

“I had a black bob at one point,” she smiled. “I have been brown.

“I’ve sort of upped and down changed and finally decided that blonde was my colour.”

Earlier this week, Holly Willoughby announced her newest Marks and Spencer edit.

The collection of 15 pieces boasts a utility feel with a feminine twist, with plenty of light fabrics for summer.
