Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield took a trip to the land of Oz on This Morning – and transformed into two iconic characters, Dorothy Gale and the Scarecrow.

Holly gave her best Judy Garland impression and donned a brown wig to play the character of Dorothy, but Phillip went one step further and had some amazing prosthesis applied.

The presenting duo dressed up in celebration of the 80th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz’s cinematic release, and they definitely weren’t in Kansas anymore.

The former musical theatre star treated viewers to a rendition of the classic If I Only Had A Brain from the iconic film, but all Holly could concentrate on was the intricately detailed make-up applied to her co-host.

‘They are so clever!’ Holly enthused, as Phillip explained his new look was created by the team who also created the FX make-up for fantasy epic Game of Thrones.

‘You are the Scarecrow!’ she continued. ‘It’s just incredible!’

A behind-the-scenes video also showed the complicated process involved in the 57 year old’s transformation, with the presenter even sharing that he had a very early start at 4am.

‘The detail is absolutely incredible,’ Phillip said.

The extended This Morning family also joined in on the fun today – Alison Hammond became The Cowardly Lion, Dr Ranj seemed to geneuinely shock Holly dressed up as a Munchkin.

Who else could have been the Wicked Witch of the West? None other than Vanessa Feltz of course.

Another iconic This Morning presenting duo also made headlines last week, as Richard and Judy returned to the sofa to present an episode of the show which was massively nostalgic.

This Morning continues weekdays from 10.30 on ITV.
