Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield 'dispel rift rumours' by holding hands at NTAs

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield dispelled rumours that they were feuding with a public display of affection for each other at the National Television Awards.

The This Morning presenters were once again winners at the NTAs, as they collected the award for Live Magazine Show alongside Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

Holly, 38, later shared a pic and a short video on Instagram of her holding the award aloft backstage, while holding hands with Phillip Schofield.

There have been rumours that the great friends had been on rocky ground after Holly went Down Under to present I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! with Declan Donnelly in 2018, subsequently picking up a BAFTA for her efforts.

The alleged rift was pretty much put to bed at the NTAs as Holly and Phil, who also present Dancing On Ice together, looked closer than ever.

Holly looked stunning in a long pink strapless gown with a skirt in sheer white lace, giving her a beautiful Cinderella-esque look.

The popular TV star captioned the picture she shared of her and Phillip with: “This maybe my fav pic of me and @schofe ever!!!”

This was followed by four heart emojis, as she continued expressing her feelings for her long-time TV partner.

It was not quite so amicable between Phillip and Ruth, whose feud spilled on to the stage during the awards.

Ruth allegedly lodged an official complaint against Phil back in April last year after he interrupted her live on air during a crossover and the pair did not look at each other as they collected an award.

NTAs viewers noticed the ‘awkward tension’ as Phillip made a point of giving Ruth time to say some words, but she did not reciprocate his thoughts.

Thanking the team, Phillip said: “Eamonn and Ruth, your Fridays are fantastic. We love you so much. You should say something I think.”

Ruth kept looking forward as she thanked Phillip, who touched her arm, for his kind words.

Ruth said: “Thank you so much. Wow, what an achievement. It’s an absolute honour for us to go on that show every single day. We love it because we know you love it.”
