Here's what to expect from the Beyonce documentary coming to Netflix

First it was Katy Perry, then Lady Gaga and now Netflix has confirmed a feature-length documentary with the one and only Beyonce.

Homecoming: A Film By Beyonce will celebrate the singer’s historic 2018 performance at Coachella, which saw her become the first black woman to headline the California festival.

According to Netflix, the documentary will provide “an in-depth look at Beyoncé’s celebrated 2018 Coachella performance from creative concept to cultural movement”.

After teasing fans with a Twitter image of the phrase “Homecoming” written on a yellow background, Netflix have dropped the official trailer. Alongside words from civil rights activist Maya Angelou, the trailer teases various clips of Bey in the run up to the performance, and more personal moments of her at home with her three children.

At the time of her historic 2018 performance, Bey said “Coachella, thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline”. Now fans will be able to get a behind-the-scene glimpse of this iconic moment that paid tribute to Historically Black Colleges and Universities across America, and to African-American sororities and fraternities.

Beyonce once again proving why she’s the original Queen B!

Homecoming: A Film By Beyonce launches globally on Netflix April 17, 2019.
