Helen Skelton fears she ‘wouldn’t have made it’ after 'carnage' on journey home from work


Helen Skelton, 37, has credited her hybrid jeep for allowing her to return home safely as she faced perilous conditions on the roads in Leeds today. The Countryfile presenter shared her concerns about the snow and ice in the region after she got back to the house she shares with her husband Richie Myler and their children Ernie and Louis.

Helen had been filming Steph’s Packed Lunch today, as she filled in for the Channel 4 show’s regular host Steph McGovern, who has been self-isolating this week.

She then took to Instagram to address the “carnage” she endured during her journey home after heavy snow disrupted the roads.

The former Blue Peter presenter posted a wintry snap of some trees she drove past covered, which were covered in snow.

Later on this evening, Helen revealed her experience fronting Steph’s daytime show had been bittersweet.

The star explained she hasn’t been able to catch up with the former BBC Breakfast presenter for a long time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Helen posted a photo of herself standing in the studio wearing a stunning white dress, which she paired with a brown leather belt that nipped her in at the waist.

She completed her outfit with a slick of berry toned lipstick and brown leather boots.
