Hector Bellerin insists the Arsenal players ‘respect’ Unai Emery’s decision to strip Granit Xhaka of the captaincy.
The Switzerland international responded angrily to Arsenal fans as he was booed off the pitch during the team’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last month.
Unai Emery has now confirmed that Xhaka is no longer Arsenal captain and that the armband has been passed to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
‘As I commented after the night of the game, sometimes it’s hard to deal with feelings.
‘He made a mistake.
‘As a dressing room we have to be together.
‘We back him. He has played his part.
‘We respect the decision of the coach and the club.
