HEATHROW Airport has announced it will extend its cap on passenger numbers throughout the summer season.
No more than 100,000 daily travellers will be able to depart until October 29, the west London airport said.

This is down from a daily passenger number of 104,000, affecting hundreds of flights.
In a press release on Monday, it said the move would “provide passengers with confidence ahead of their half-term getaways”.
Heathrow chief commercial officer Ross Baker said: “Our primary concern is ensuring we give our passengers a reliable service when they travel.
“That’s why we introduced temporary capacity limits in July which have already improved journeys during the summer getaway.
“We want to remove the cap as soon as possible, but we can only do so when we are confident that everyone operating at the airport has the resources to deliver the service our passengers deserve.”
The decision could cause significant disruptions into the autumn – coming off the back of a summer of hell at Britain’s airports.
The extension will affect Brits heading abroad during the October half-term.
Affected passengers will not get any compensation as the cause of cancellation is legally beyond their airline’s control.
British Airways has only just resumed the sale of short-haul flights after beng forced to suspend them due to the Heathrow passenger cap.
The UK flag carrier suspended the sale of journeys on July 30 in response, which was extended until today.
However, British Airways has since confirmed that the short-haul flights have resumed sales from today.
It’s not just BA either – Lufthansa also reduced their flight sales last month too.
