Heather Locklear is 'out of rehab' and spending time with her boyfriend Chris Heisser

She’s on the mend following a challenging battle with substance abuse.

And Heather Locklear is reportedly ‘out of rehab’ following another attempt at treatment in Los Angeles, according to Radar.

The 57-year-old actress left a center on Saturday, May 25, and is spending her time with her boyfriend Chris Heisser.

A source reported that Locklear is ‘back to spending 24-7’ with her beau despite a fight in early April, which was one of the catalysts for her return to rehab. 

‘Heather and Chris got into a screaming match, and after they finally cooled down she realized she’d lost control again and decided she needed to head back to rehab,’ an insider said.

Her history with recovery has been challenging and she’s sought treatment following multiple arrests in the last year.  

‘She went back to rehab two weeks ago,’ a source told People in early May. ‘She went back to the place she left before Christmas. She had left for three days right before Christmas and never gone back.

‘Heather’s problem is she doesn’t get serious about anything. She was continuing to drink.’

Heather left a treatment facility ahead of Christmas to spend time with her family, but never returned to the program. 

‘Her issue is alcohol, pills, and her mental health. She doesn’t want anybody to hold her accountable,’ the source said. ‘She has no job, nothing to keep her accountable. This has been tearing up her family. It’s been an ongoing issue for many many years. It has been horrible for Ava.’ 

Locklear was married to Richie Sambora for 13 years and the couple had one child, now 21-year-old daughter named Ava.

‘Richie isn’t really involved anymore, though he has always been a great supporter,’ an insider said. ‘He has supported Ava and has always been there for Heather.’

Heather was arrested in June on misdemeanor battery charges after reportedly attacking a police officer and EMT who were responding to a disturbance call at her home in Thousand Oaks. 

After she was released from custody, Locklear was hospitalized for a suspected overdose, and in November, her therapist reported that she was having a mental breakdown and needed medical assistance. 

‘Everybody is hopeful that this time will be different, but it’s just hard to tell,’ the source said. ‘She’s not going into anything new is the problem though; she’s just going back to something she has done before. 

‘She has been to rehab more than 20 times, perhaps 25 times. The people are really rich, they pay for detoxes. So a lot of it has been that. She had a sober minder living with her. They pay them like $7,000 to $10,000 a week, and they absolutely haven’t worked for her.’
