Hearthstone Descent of Dragons release date, time news and Battlegrounds latest

Hearthstone Descent of Dragons is the final card expansion for the popular mobile game in 2019.

As usual, gamers can expect a ton of new cards to be released, alongside new a keyword and probably a few updates to the Battlegrounds Mode too.

Blizzard has confirmed that a grand total of 135 cards will be included in the Hearthstone: Descent of Dragons.

This new DLC will also conclude the year-long story line that has been playing out through a number of different expansions in 2019.

The League of E.V.I.L. wants to doom Azeroth by resurrecting Galakrond – the father of all dragons – and for fans, this will mean being able to collect different forms of the famous fire-breather.

These come in a set of five new Hero cards, which will be available to the five “E.V.I.L.” classes—Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior.

This will also mean using the unique Battlecry and Hero Power assigned to each form.

HEARTHSTONE DESCENT OF DRAGONS RELEASE DATE

As confirmed by Blizzard in November, the Hearthstone Descent of Dragons release date has been set for Tuesday, November 10.

Blizzard usually launches expansions a little later depending on which timezone you’re in, so players in Asia may be waiting until December 11.

When it comes to an official release time, there doesn’t appear to have been a set schedule confirmed by Blizzard.

And it should also be noted that if we do find out one, server issues and other problems on December 10 could mean longer wait times.

Based on past release schedules, we would expect the Descent of Dragons to begin at around 10am PT in the United States.

For gamers in the UK, this would mean the new Hearthstone card update arriving at around 6pm, GMT.

Here are some of the predicted times for the new Hearthstone release:

  • Americas: 10:00 PDT
  • Europe: 18:00 GMT
  • Asia: 11 December 02:00 KS / 01:00 CST
  • China: 11 December 01:00 CST

As always, it will be worth keeping track of the official Hearthstone social media pages for the latest news.

HEARTHSTONE DESCENT OF DRAGONS CHANGES

The three big new features being launched with the Descent of Dragons is a new keyword, sidequests and Galakrond hero cards. As mentioned above, Galakrond rises as five powerful new 7-cost Hero cards available to the five League of E.V.I.L. classes–Shaman, Rogue, Priest, Warrior, and Warlock.

Players will be able to use a dragon cultist minion or a spell with the Invoke keyword at any time to trigger the effect of Galakrond’s Hero Power.

And by Invoking multiple times, players will be able to upgrade their Galakrond Hero card into his two stronger forms. As a log in reward, players will receive all five Galakrond Hero cards for free.

Meanwhile, Heroic Druids, Hunters, Mages, and Paladins can earn valuable rewards by completing new Sidequests.

“Invoking multiple times upgrades Galakrond into his two increasingly stronger forms, the mightiest of which is Galakrond, Azeroth’s End—which comes into play with a quadruple-strength Battlecry and a powerful claw attack,” a message from Blizzard explains.

“Heroic Druids, Hunters, Mages, and Paladins can cower in the face of Galakrond’s might, or they can bravely prepare to face their doom by completing the new Sidequests, which provide a variety of accessible early-game goals and rewards.”

Descent of Dragons also includes 10 new Legendary Dragon cards, one for each Hearthstone class, while the new Dragon Breath cards available to each class will provide an added bonus if you’re holding a Dragon.
