The hit TV show returns for its final series next month
HBO has hidden six thrones in locations around the world ahead of the return of Game Of Thrones.
The long-running hit series will come back to our screens on April 15 for its eighth and final season.
Before then, fans can prove just how dedicated to the show they are by taking part in the #ForTheThrone campaign. The network has shared a series of 360-degree videos of the location of the first throne, which is seen in a forest. A countdown timer shows how long is left for fans to find it.
Once time runs out or someone claims it, another set of videos will be released showing where the second throne is located. You can visit the #ForTheThrone website here and watch see a sample video above.
HBO is also asking fans to “bleed” for the throne. They have teamed up with Red Cross to encourage viewers to give blood at blood drives. Another proponent of the campaign, “create”, showcases 18 artists’ reimaginings of props from the show.
Meanwhile, Sean Bean has spoken about the “comedy” during his final scene on the Game Of Thrones set. The actor’s character Ned Stark died during season one, but the star said there was a “gallows humour” around the set.
“It’s awful what’s happening, and you start giggling and laughing,” he said. “When the head fell off, there were mistakes. It didn’t quite work out sometimes. It was quite comic. So it breaks the ice a bit.”
