However, Blues boss Maurizio Sarri decided to give starts to Hazard, N’Golo Kante, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Sarri may have been regretting his decision to start Hazard as the Belgian forward was attacked right from the word go.

Prague players had no mercy as they left the Real Madrid target with holes in his socks as evidence to their ruffhouse tactics.

This kind of treatment is nothing new to the 28-year-old though, as Chelsea’s No10 ranks as the most fouled player in the Premier League this season.

Hazard has been on the receiving end of 97 fouls in the league this season, with Crystal Palace star Wilfred Zaha a close second with 92.

It has not stopped the little Belgian trickster from netting 19 times in all competitions this season – the Blues top scorer.

Frenchman Olivier Giroud is just behind on 12 – and remarkably 10 of those striker have come in his 11 Europa League appearances.

Chelsea host Burnley on Monday and sit fifth trailing Arsenal on goal difference, though the Gunners have a game in hand over their rivals.
