Harvey Weinstein coronavirus threat: Disgraced producer 'ill in isolation as doctors test'


Mr Weinstein, 68, is currently serving a 23-year-sentence for third-degree rape and criminal sexual assault. Now TMZ reports that doctors in prison have placed the disgraced producer in isolation for 72 hours while he waits for the results of a coronavirus test. He was isolated after contracting an 101F (38C) fever, with law enforcement sources claiming he is “doing poorly” with various health issues. Previous reports claimed the producer caught the virus in March, but TMZ claims he was never officially diagnosed.

 

Representatives for Mr Weinstein commented on the TMZ report, saying the former producer has existing health conditions.

They said: “It should come as no surprise that Mr. Weinstein has numerous maladies and conditions including a heart condition, high blood pressure and spinal stenosis.

“We are working with the NYSDOCCS and the excellent team at Wende CF to ensure Mr. Weinstein receives the proper medical attention he needs.”

The existing health complications and age of the the disgraced Mr Weinstein puts him at severe risk from COVID-19.

While reports claimed Mr Weinstein caught coronavirus in march, his diagnosis was never confirmed and now it is believed he was suffering from a heavy cold.

Sources close the the producer now saw he “definitely” is showing symptoms of the virus.

Since his conviction in February, Mr Weinstein has been charged with six more counts of sexual assault in California from two victims.

These charges have been added to the existing counts of rape and sexual battery, with the second trial yet to receive a date.
