Harry Wilson has completed a move away from Liverpool after 16 years at the club and is ‘delighted’ to sign for Fulham and work with manager Marco Silva.

The 24-year-old has been at Anfield since 2005 but has never played a league game for the Reds, making just one FA Cup an done EFL Cup appearance for the club.

He has built up plenty of experience out on loan, spending short-term spells with Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County, Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

His season with Bournemouth was in the Premier League, when he made 31 league appearances scoring seven goals.

The free-kick specialist has also picked up 29 caps for Wales but it has not been enough to convince the Liverpool management to give him first team opportunities and he has now departed.

The Cottagers have forked out £12m for the Welshman and given him a contract which could run until 2026, something he is thrilled that they have chosen to do.

‘I’m delighted to sign for Fulham,’ Wilson told FFCtv. ‘From my first chat with the Gaffer on the phone, I loved what he was saying and felt that he understood me as a player, and that played a massive role in me coming here.

‘The ambition of the club to get back into the Premier League appealed to me as that’s where we all want to be. I’m hoping I can come here, have a good season and help get the club back into the Premier League.’

In a post on their own website, Liverpool sent a message to the departing midfielder, which read: ‘Everyone at Liverpool FC thanks Harry for his contributions to the club and wishes him the best of luck in his future career.’

Fulham have also snapped up Paulo Gazzaniga on a free transfer after the goalkeeper left Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine has signed on a two-year contract.
