Bad news for all you Hazza fans out there.

Harry Styles has at last acknowledged he ‘was’ (note, ‘was‘; past tense) in talks to play Price Eric in an upcoming remake of The Little Mermaid.

Whatever went down, we’re sure it’s for the best, Harry!

Speaking about the feverishly-anticipated Disney movie in a cover interview with The Face, Harry admitted: ‘It was discussed’.

However he then ‘swiftly’ changes the subject’, according to the interviewer.

‘I want to put music out and focus on that for a while,’ Harry then added.

‘But everyone involved in it was amazing, so I think it’s going to be great. I’ll enjoy watching it, I’m sure.’

Sources close to the film previously claimed Harry had turned the role down.

The character of Ariel in Little Mermaid will be played by Halle Bailey.

Former One Direction member Harry’s first film role was in 2017 war epic Dunkirk.

Harry was also previously rumoured to be playing music icon Elvis in an upcoming biopic – but then, in July, it was announced that Austin Butler had landed the role.

Speaking about losing out, Harry told the magazine: ‘I feel like if I’m not the right person for the thing, then it’s best for both of us that I don’t do it, you know?’

Good attitude HS, and better luck next time. And by the way, Prince Charming is currently in production!
