Harry Styles sports hair clips in his coiffed 50s-style locks on My Policeman set in Venice

He had made a Hollywood style arrival to the Italian city via water taxi earlier this week.

And it was back to work for Harry Styles on Tuesday, who was spotted sporting hair clips in his coiffed locks, as filming recommenced for My Policeman in Venice.

The Watermelon Sugar hitmaker, 27, was also attended to by his style team who perfected his 50s-style look on the set of the LGBT drama.

Harry cut a cool figure in a cream knitted polo shirt, which was paired with grey trousers and white pumps.

The singer and actor sported brown tinted glasses and a black watch, completing his policeman character Tom’s off-duty look.

At one point, Harry was seen with an array of hair clips in his brown locks, which were no doubt used to keep his style in place.

They were later removed as a team of hair and wardrobe stylists worked their magic on the star, who stood among them in a black mask.

The Adore You singer appeared in good spirits as he sauntered about the set, with scenes being filmed on a boat and on a nearby bridge.

Harry and much of the team wore masks as to adhere to strict COVID-19 regulations in the city.

Italy is currently on the UK government’s Amber list, meaning those returning to Britain must quarantine for 10 days on their return.

The One Direction star had recently been filming My Policeman in Brighton, alongside co-stars Emma Corrin and David Dawson.

Harry takes the lead in the new movie which is set in Brighton in the 1950s, and based on Bethan Roberts’ novel, focusing on police officer Tom, who is gay, but married to Marion (Emma) due to societal expectations.

The film follows him as he goes on to have a decades-long affair with museum curator Patrick Hazelwood, played by David Dawson.

Production on the film kicked off in Brighton a few weeks ago, and it is currently unclear when the film will be released.

Harry will reportedly film sex scenes with co-star David, who plays his on-screen lover, in the upcoming romantic drama.

An insider said: ‘Harry will be having sex on screen and they want it to look as real as possible. The plan is to shoot two romps between Harry and David, then another scene where Harry is naked on his own.’

The 2012 novel explores the criminalisation of homosexuality in the 1950s.

The Amazon Studios production is being directed by Michael Grandage, and has been shooting since April 12 on locations in London and the South-East coast, while the more intimate moments will be filmed at one of the big film studios.

Harry’s outing also comes as his girlfriend Olivia Wilde’s ex Jason Sudeikis is said to still be ‘heartbroken’ over their new relationship.

‘Jason is heartbroken about Olivia and Harry’s relationship,’ a source told Page Six. ‘They’re going from strength to strength, and he’s still massively upset and, to be honest, is still a little angry.’

While it emerged it November 2020 that Jason, 45, and Olivia, 37, had separated after seven years together, it has been reported that her relationship with Harry started as early as October 2020.

The website previously reported in January that Jason was upset to learn Olivia’s relationship with Harry dated back to October 2020.

Insiders told the site that her involvement with Harry was the primary reason for the break-up.

‘Olivia and Jason were having issues, like any other couple, but Jason loves Olivia — he completely adores her, and that’s what makes this so sad. He’s always been committed to making their family work,’ the source told the site in January.

‘People have tried to make out that Harry and Olivia have only been dating for the past few weeks, but that’s not right,’ the insider said. ‘Jason found out about Harry and pushed the conversation. Olivia then asked for a separation and news of the split was made public.’

The pair reportedly became more than just friends on the set of Olivia’s sophomore directorial effort Don’t Worry Darling, which also stars Harry.

The couple confirmed their romance when they attended the wedding of Harry’s manager Jeffrey Azoff, where they were spotted holding hands.
