Harry Styles says James Corden has ‘sworn him to secrecy’ over Gavin and Stacey special

Harry Styles’ friend James Corden has shared details of the upcoming Gavin and Stacey Christmas special with the singer, who has been “sworn to secrecy.”

Appearing on the KISS Breakfast show on Friday morning, he told hosts Tom Green and Daisy Maskell that the one-off episode of the hit comedy series, which Corden co-wrote with Ruth Jones, will be “great.”

“I heard a little bit about it, I think it’s going to be great,” he said, adding: “I’ve been sworn to secrecy.”

The musician, 25, and the talk show host, 41, have been close since Styles joined One Direction, and the former boyband star has appeared on Corden’s Late Late Show numerous times.

Styles has taken part in Corden’s musical franchise Carpool Karaoke alongside One Direction and as a solo artist, and was recently spotted filming a Crosswalk: The Musical segment in Los Angeles for an upcoming appearance on the show.

In 2017, he stepped in to host the Late Late Show at last minute when Corden’s wife Julia gave birth to the couple’s third child.

Styles is now set to front the programme on Tuesday, December 10 ahead of the launch of his second album.

Discussing his upcoming appearance with Green and Maskell, he said: “I did it once before when he had a baby, it was a little more of an emergency step in. And I had fun. 

“I have a lot more time to prepare this time […] I don’t think it feels super natural. It’s quite nice doing something different, to do something that’d not usually part of the job I guess.”
