Harry Styles has been confirmed for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee and we adore it.

The last time Harry performed at Big Weekend was in 2014 with his fellow One Direction members but now that he’s a solo artist, he’s got two whole albums to perform for us.

Harry released a statement: ‘Yes Radio 1! Absolutely thrilled to be back at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, it’s the start of the summer and the crowds in Scotland are always insane. See you soon Dundee!’

We can’t wait to see how flared his trousers can conceivably get and we reckon we should all dress similarly.

The event will be happening in Camperdown Park on Friday 22 to Sunday 24 May and now that we think about it, it’s not even that far away.

Other confirmed acts include the one and only Dua Lipa and she will be performing songs from her brand new album Future Nostalgia.

Coming in live and direct will also be AJ Tracey, Calvin Harris and Biffy Clyro.

So far, international acts include the Havana singer Camila Cabello and now we’re just hoping Shawn Mendes pops up for a duet.

Meanwhile, Harry was also confirmed to perform at Pepsi Zero Sugar’s Super Bowl bash in Miami on 31 January.

‘I’m excited to be playing the Pepsi Super Bowl party this year,’ he said. ‘I hear they’re amazing and I’m looking forward to it. See you in Miami – H.’

However, the move has sparked a furious backlash from his – and Colin Kaepernick’s – followers, because Pepsi is a sponsor of the NFL.

Former NFL quarterback Colin has not appeared in a league game since 2016 after campaigning against the NFL and the US national anthem in protest against police brutality and racial injustice.

Numerous celebrities including Rihanna and Cardi B have vowed to boycott the Super Bowl since the controversy.

And fans were quick to take to Twitter, appealing to Harry to avoid the Super Bowl as well as Pepsi.

‘Harry please do not stay silent on this. this means a lot to your black fans including myself. do better,’ one wrote.

Another commented: ‘Two weeks till damage will be done, i hope he has time to educate himself.’

The soft drink company was accused of racial insensitivity after a 2017 ad appeared to ‘trivialise’ political resistance and police brutality and was accused of ‘disrespecting’ the Black Lives Matter movement.
