Harry Styles and Lady Gaga are all about the fashion, as the two prepared to no doubt own the Met Gala this evening.
The two are tipped to be showstoppers at this year’s soiree, with both Gaga and Harry co-hosts of the event, alongside Anna Wintour, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele and Serena Williams.
And they’re already delivering.
The duo were seen getting into form as they partied with the likes of James Corden, co-host Serena and husband Alexis Ohanian, Sienna Miller and co at 172 Sullivan Street NY.
It’s all very fancy.
Former One Directioner Harry sported a very swish red velvet blazer, teamed with high-waisted trousers and a white vest as his hair was swept back in that classic ‘oh this thing?’ kind of way it tends to do.
We’re a little weak at the knees just thinking about what he’s going to offer tonight, with the theme being Camp: Notes on Fashion.
Harry will turn up the camp but Gaga is already in her own league, as she went big for the pre-event on Sunday evening.
After sharing with us her journey to New York and her unshaven legs that we can all scream ‘yass’ for, she sported a black and white-striped frill of a number.
Basically, she was a walking concertina.
Escorted by a burly security bloke she let her outfit do the talking as it came complete with a pair of slick black shades, her classic massive heels we haven’t seen since about 2012, and a rather impressive headpiece.
Because if no one wears a headpiece during Met Gala celebrations, is it even the Met Gala?
If you want to catch a glimpse of the greatness, you’ve got a long night ahead of you, though as the 2019 Met Gala will take place on Monday night at 7pm New York time (so midnight in the UK).
It accompanies a new exhibition of the Costume Institute, curated by Andrew Bolton, and this year centres around Susan Sontag’s essay from 1964, Notes on Camp (which Harry was spotted getting into last year in preparation).
Camp is all about extravagance and being gloriously extra so we know we’re in good hands with Gaga and Harry.
With the likes of Beyonce, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardsahian and Kanye West, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rihanna expected to turn out in all their awesomeness we can’t wait a single minute longer until the red carpet.
