Harry Kane shared a video of his celebrations in the aftermath of Tottenham’s epic Champions League quarter-final victory over Manchester City.

The Spurs striker looks likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle injury in the first leg of the dramatic tie and watched on at home as the events unfolded on Wednesday evening.

Fernando Llorente’s 73rd-minute goal, which was eventually given following a VAR review, sent Tottenham into the final four on away goals and Mauricio Pochettino’s side face Ajax for a place in the final.

Raheem Sterling, who scored a first-half brace for City, was denied a last-gasp winner as Sergio Aguero was adjudged to have been offside in the lead-up to the goal.

The classic Etihad encounter was breathless from start to finish and Kane’s reaction was no doubt one of joy and relief.

‘Omggg! I love you boys!!!! #COYS #UCL,’ he posted after the final whistle.

Tottenham last reached the final four of Europe back in 1961/62 and Pochettino praised the ‘character’ and ‘personality’ of his players after a historic win.

‘It was unbelievable – the way it finished. I am so happy, so proud. My players are heroes to be here. I am so happy for them, so happy for the fans,’ he said.

“In a moment many things happened in your head, the disappointment was massive but they changed the decision. That is why we love football.

‘Today we showed great character and great personality it was an unbelievable game.’

‘I thought it was all over but It was a fun game.

‘It was a rollercoaster, we gave them a lot but also got a lot it was a weird game.

‘After today we take a deep breathe, it will be a fairytale to play them and fun to be back in the Arena again.’
