Harry Kane limped off the field with what appeared to be a nasty ankle injury during Tottenham’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester City.
Kane came off worse in a full-blooded challenge with City’s Fabian Delph in the second half, and immediately hobbled down the tunnel.
The two collided going for the ball close to the two dugouts on the halfway line. Kane got to the ball first but slammed into Delph, whose studs came down on the Spurs striker’s ankle.
The injury looked painful on replay, and Kane was quick to leave the field, throwing his fitness for the rest of the season into serious doubt.
At the time the two Premier League sides were still locked at 0-0, after Sergio Aguero had seen his penalty – controversially awarded via VAR – saved by Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris.
