When is Harry and Meghan: An African Journey on?

ITV’s latest documentary will premiere on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 9pm, with an hour long show following the famous couple’s tour of Africa.

News anchor Tom Bradby, who works on ITV News At Ten, speaks exclusively to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they explore the continent.

Viewers will have behind the scenes access to the modern Royal couple and their baby son Archie in this programme.

Is there a trailer for Harry and Meghan: An African Journey?

Yes, ITV have released a short clip, with snippets of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie, teasing their Royal tour.

Footage of the pair cradling their child is shown, as well as the moment they met South African cleric Desmond Tutu.

Speaking over the video, Tom insists their tour was full of “passion for their work, private happiness but also a world of pressure and pain behind the brave faces.”

Of his own experience following the world’s most famous couple, he said: “It was a journey but not always the one I was expecting.”

What is Harry and Meghan: An African Journey about?

Tom has been given exclusive access to Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal tour of Africa, which began on Monday, September 23, 2019 and lasted for 10 days.

The family started their trip in Cape Town before moving onto Angola, Malawi and Botswana, which Harry travelled to on his own.

ITV News At Ten journalist follows the pair as they travel around the continent with their young son, Archie.

In the documentary he discusses with the couple the causes closest to their heart, while touching on the challenges they face in balancing their public duties and private life.

“This is the third documentary I’ve made with Prince Harry in Africa,” Tom explained.

“I expected it to be an interesting journey but this ended up being a fascinating insight taking in taking in their passion for their work, their private happiness and the challenge and pressure of balancing their public duties and family life.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry said: “Ever since I came to this continent as a young boy, trying to cope with something I can never possibly describe, Africa has held me in an embrace that I will never forget.”
