Hand luggage: Beat airline weight restrictions with this passenger hack


What are airline hand luggage restrictions?

Most airlines employ a weight restriction for both checked luggage and hand luggage, though budget airlines are most renowned for checking.

British-airline Jet2 allow one bag per passenger, totalling 10kg and a maximum size of 56x45x25cm, plus an additional personal item such as a handbag or laptop bag.

While easyJet imposes measurements, with a guideline of 56x45x25, it is is one of the only low-cost airlines to boast an open weight limit.

Wizzair welcoming fliers to bring onboard a small 10kg bag (40x30x20cm) which should be placed under the seat in front. However, it should be noted that overhead storage comes at a cost.

Ryanair offers the smallest hand luggage allowance for travellers, totalling just 40x20x25cm, anything over that will cost a fee.
