Lin-Manuel Miranda treated a class of Welsh school kids to a freestyle rap about Cardiff and the end result is incredible.
Twitter user Michael Garvey took to social media to share a video courtesy of his daughter Eleanor, after the 15-year-old ran into the Hamilton star on a school trip to New York.

Having spent a lot of time in Wales while shooting the upcoming TV adaptation of His Dark Materials, Lin-Manuel put on an impressive freestyle rap performance for the teens in the style of hip hop musical Freestyle Love Supreme that he is currently appearing in on Broadway.
Starting with a repeated refrain of: ‘What y’all know about Cardiff? Cardiff, Cardiff,’ the 39-year-old started freestyling.
‘Well I don’t know a lot but it’s kind of clutch, so do you mind ifs I come in for a cwtch,’ he spitballed, impressing the group with his knowledge of Welsh slang.
‘I’m rapping whatever I can about Cardiff, Wales and I’ve had a whale of a time every time I go.
‘It’s getting really kind of serial because I did a show, it was called His Dark Materials. It starts on Sunday night, when do you all get back from your trip? Can you see it?’ he said.
Now that’s some good promo for the show.
Going back to Wales, the Tony Award winner continued: ‘I went to Caerphilly Castle, West Ends Castle, St David’s Castle, every castle. I was like the a*****e who was showing up at every castle.’
Now that’s a line that’s going to be stuck in our heads all week…
With less than a week to go until the first episode of His Dark Materials airs, our excitement for the new series is through the roof.
Starring alongside James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and newcomer Dafne Keen, Lin-Manuel plays Lee Scoresby, a mysterious figure who joins the show mid-series.

His Dark Materials begins Sunday 3 November at 8pm on BBC One.
