The Halo Reach release date is coming in December and will be available on PC and Xbox One.
It’s a big step for the Microsoft franchise and is expected to have a lot of players when it does arrive on the Microsoft Store and Steam later this week.
Halo Reach has proven to be an enduring favourite among Master Chief fans and many are eager to start testing out the game on a new platform.
Microsoft has already announced that there will be several different ways to play Halo Reach when it does release on PC and Xbox One.
And this will be just the first step in releasing the full Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) on PC.
WHEN IS HALO REACH COMING OUT ON PC AND XBOX ONE?
While closed beta testing has been performed throughout 2019, Microsoft is preparing to launch new Halo experience on PC for the first time.
The Halo Reach PC and Xbox One release date has been set for Tuesday, December 3. And this will be the first stage in launching the Master Chief Collection on Steam and the Microsoft Store.
We don’t have an exact release time for when Halo Reach will be available to play on PC platforms like Steam and the Microsoft Store.
The Store Store currently suggests the game will be going live at around 12pm in the UK on December 3, although this could also change based on time zones.
Meanwhile, the Microsoft Store currently lists the game as going live on December 3 at 12pm.
So it seems the tech giant may release Halo Reach at around midday globally for PC and Xbox One gamers.
HALO REACH MCC LAUNCH PLANS AND HOW TO PLAY
There are several ways to play Halo Reach on PC and Xbox One on December 3. Microsoft is making it possible to use the Xbox Game Pass to play Halo Reach on both platforms on launch day.
But fans can also buy Halo Reach as the first instalment in the Master Chief Collection, which will include a range of other games too.
Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign) and Halo 4 are also included in Xbox Game Pass.
As confirmed by Microsoft earlier this year, these other Halo titles will be delivered to PC players over time, completing the collection in 2020.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also available for pre-order ($39.99USD) which includes Reach beginning Dec. 3 and will automatically update with the remaining titles as they launch next year.
Halo: Reach, and the remaining titles within MCC for PC, can also be purchased à la carte ($9.99USD). So gamers have plenty of ways to buy and play Halo Reach on launch day later this week.
It should be noted that the game will be a work in progress and fans can probably expect several updates to it throughout 2019.
Talking about their plans for Halo Reach earlier this year, Microsoft has highlighted some of the areas that are still being worked on.
Speaking on Mouse input issues and server lag following the latest Halo beta test, Microsoft confirmed: “The team is currently investigating and iterating on multiple ways to further improve mouse and keyboard input between now and launch.
“Our early results from initial testing from Rings 1 & 2 are very promising and the team has confidence in how these investigations are progressing.
“We’re committed to making this a great PC experience and will continue iterating on mouse & keyboard changes – and flighting them post-launch – if needed.
“As we look towards launch on December 3rd, we feel that overall mouse input will be greatly improved over what many experienced in Flight Three.”
The post adds: “To help address players having poor matchmaking experiences we are planning to upgrade the servers in the data centres for our launch.
“We also are continuing to investigate and make improvements based on reports surrounding server latency, delays, and various network related issues before launch.
“We intend to have several improvements made before December 3, but since we feel this is an area that can always be improved on, we’ll continue listening and chasing down reports and doing additional work as needed.”
