Zoe Kravitz has been welcomed in the Catwoman club with open arms by the actresses who previously played the iconic character – Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Yesterday it was confirmed that Zoe, 30, is set to play the famous DC Comics character in The Batman alongside Robert Pattinson in the title role as the Caped Crusader.

And it seems no one is more pleased for the Big Little Lies actress than the former Catwomen, Halle and Michelle, who have congratulated the star on her incredible new gig.

In a series of Instagram stories, Halle said: ‘Special #WCW shout-out to your new #CatWoman, the eternally graceful & extremely bad a*s @zoeisabellakravitz [sic].’

She added: ‘Keep shining Queen & welcome to the family! #CatWoman [sic].’

Halle, 53, famously portrayed the heroine in the 2004 movie Catwoman, although it was heavily panned by critics and has just a 9% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 3.3 out of 10 on IMDb.

Michelle, 61, took on the role in 1992’s Batman Returns, in which she starred alongside Michael Keaton. This classic fared much better with critics and has an impressive rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes and seven out of 10 on IMDb.

Speaking out on Zoe’s epic casting, Michelle said on Good Morning America on Wednesday: ‘I’m so excited.’

Offering some wise advice for the new Catwoman, the actress added: ‘Make sure, whilst designing the costume, they consider how you’re going to go to the bathroom. Minor detail, but it’s an important one.’

According to Michelle, she had to wear the latex catsuit for 12-14 hours a day with just one toilet break during the six-month shoot.

Meanwhile Anne Hathaway, who also portrayed Catwoman aka Selina in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, congratulated Zoe on her exciting new gig via Instagram hours after the news was announced.

‘The biggest congrats to @zoeisabellakravitz on landing the role of a lifetime. Well, one life anyway…⁣⁣ Enjoy the ride, Selina,’ she wrote.

Zoe replied: ‘Thank you sweet anne !!’ with a cat emoji, of course.

So basically, we’re all pretty much in agreement that Zoe will make the most perfect Catwoman.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Zoe had attended a table reading alongside Robert, 32, at the beginning of October and landed the role last week.

Breaking her silence on the news, the X-Men actress wrote on Instagram: ‘Love that Aquaman and Catwoman spend the holidays together from now on,’ in reference to her stepdad Jason Momoa who plays Aquaman.
