Hailey Baldwin blasts ‘obsessive’ trolls who claim she’ll ‘always be second best’ to Justin Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez

Hailey Baldwin has hit back at trolls who claimed she will always be “second best” to Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The model, who married the singer last year, posted a sweet black and white photo booth snap alongside her husband earlier this week, which prompted some Instagram users to criticise the pair’s relationship.

“Can you stop forcing your relationship already… we all know your [sic] 2nd best,” one follower wrote. “You always will be and always have been.”

“He will leave you one day and he will go to selenaaaaaaaaaa,” another wrote.

The disparaging comments prompted Baldwin to defend herself in a now-deleted Instagram Story post, in which she called out “delusional” and “obsessive strangers” who were “try[ing] to tell [her] about [her] own husband”.

“You little internet kiddos need to learn how to move on for real,” she wrote.

“We’re adults that have better things to do than waste time explaining something just so you can stop your delusional fantasies. I’m not going to sit here and let obsessive strangers try to tell me about my own husband, you wanna talk about somebodies’ husband then get ur own. G’night!!”

The 22-year-old previously blasted Bieber’s fan base for being “possessive” and attempting to “tear down” her relationship with the singer.

“I don’t know if it’s because they want to be able to say, ‘I told you so’ or because they want to be right, I don’t really know what the idea is behind trying to tear somebody’s relationship down, or person down, whatever it may be,” she told Cosmopolitan last month.

“The problem too is kids become possessive over people and feel like if they think they’re hurt, they feel hurt for them and they’re hurt too, or whatever it is.

“I’m like, you actually don’t know me. You don’t know him. You don’t know her, you don’t know these people for real. What’s really weird to be is they create scenarios in their head of what they think is happening or what they think should happen, and I’m just like ‘This is just so dumb, it’s so dumb.’”

Bieber recently leapt to his wife’s defence when one Instagram user claimed he was using her to “get back” at Gomez, slamming the troll as “immature” and “absurd.”

“Ur [sic] immature the fact that you have an account dedicated to dissing my wife and I is absolutely absurd,” the singer wrote in a reply to the offending comment. “Anyone who believes this is mean spirited or 10 years old or younger because a logical person doesn’t talk or think this way u should be ashamed of yourself really.”

He went on to reveal that although he “absolutely loved” Gomez and she “will always hold a place in [his] heart,” he is “head over heals [sic] in love with [Baldwin]”.

“She is absolutely the BEST THING that has happened to me period,” he added.
