She rose to fame as Brienne Of Tarth, wearing medieval armor on HBO’s Game Of Thrones.
But Gwendoline Christie’s offscreen style is rather softer, as she showed while out and about in New York this Saturday.
The 40-year-old actress was spotted enjoying a stroll in Manhattan while modeling a sleek navy coat over a sea green blouse.

Gwendoline has let her signature blonde hair grow into long waves that are a far cry from the close-cropped do she wore as the valiant soldier Brienne.
The Worthing-born actress slipped into dark jeans and a pair of black leather loafers, accessorizing with a color-block handbag.
Gwendoline admitted in the latest issue of GQ Style that she ‘might never’ find a role as fulfilling as Brienne again.
‘But it’s OK. What occurred was a shift; something spoke to me and allowed me an insight into humanity,’ said Gwendoline.

‘Thrones and Brienne, together they gave me a lot of hope and a lot of experience. I’ve been dealing with this idea of loss since I first got the character. Now, it’s about stepping into other worlds and other humans and allowing that to happen. It was so hard for so long. But a little bit of acceptance means a huge amount.’
She also talked about the importance of clothes, sharing: ‘When I was growing up, fashion for me was the most immediate way of transforming. Different energies. Different emotions. Different people.’
Gwendoline said of her fascination with changing her appearance: ‘I think because my body seems to draw such extreme responses from people, that, well… it’s fight or flight, isn’t it? Sink or swim.’

One is The Personal History Of David Copperfield, a Dickens adaptation by The Thick Of It and Veep creator Armando Iannucci out in January.
Another is The Friend, a drama starring Casey Affleck and Dakota Johnson that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last month.
