GTA 6 release date 2020: Bad Grand Theft Auto news for PS4 and Xbox One gamers

A new rumour suggests that Rockstar Games may not release its next Grand Theft Auto game until 2021.

New reports suggest that GTA 6 will not launch until after the PS5 and Xbox Series X is on the market.

And that spells bad news for PS4 and Xbox One gamers hoping to play the game on their current consoles.

According to BGR, a new online rumour suggests that the next Grand Theft Auto game will not be released until 2021.

The odds that Rockstar Games would release a game at that time and make it compatible with the PS4 and Xbox One seem very low.

We would be a full year into the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X and a new Grand Theft Auto game would be perfect to boost sales.

Rockstar Games has traditionally launched newer GTA titles on consoles first, followed by PC.

But this time around could see the development team launch GTA 6 on new streaming services too.

This would likely include Google Stadia and Project xCloud from Microsoft. Both of these services would have been around for several years and have built up a dedicated userbase.

They would also make it possible for more casual gamers to download and play the latest GTA game on their phones, a first for Rockstar Games.

It might also make it possible to stream GTA 6 to an Xbox One console, using Project xCloud.

Unfortunately, like all the rest of the most recent leaks, there’s no way of verifying this information.

It would make sense that Rockstar Games would wait a little longer to launch GTA 6 if they only have plans to launch it on next-gen tech.

The only good news for GTA fans would be that Rockstar Games would probably want to announce its next big project in 2020, if 2021 is the final launch year

E3 2020 would make the perfect platform, but as past years have taught us, Rockstar doesn’t really need much help.

They could simply steal the show sometime during Summer 2020 with a simple message on social media.

With the popularity of GTA 5 and GTA Online still high, it wouldn’t be long before fans would want to know more about GTA 6.

And Rockstar Games would have a full year to hype its next project, without the need to partner with any big gaming brands.

Until the development team reveal their final plans, there will remain a small slither of hope that the next Grand Theft Auto game will appear on PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
