Some Barcelona fans have been left angered by Antoine Griezmann’s decision to fly to France straight after his side’s 4-1 humbling by Paris Saint-Germain.
A Kylian Mbappe-inspired PSG tore Barca apart at the Nou Camp in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
And Barca’s hopes of winning the competition for the first time since 2015 appear to be all but over.
Their manager Ronald Koeman has granted the team two days off until they resume training again on Friday.
But some supporters were left furious after it emerged that Griezmann had made his way to El Prat airport straight after the game in order to fly back to France, with reports suggesting he caught a private jet to Lyon to visit his family.
It comes as the city is still adjusting to new curfews that have recently come in from 10pm-6am to protect against Covid-19.
And considering his largely ineffective performance, Griezmann was the target of fury from some on social media.
One fan tweeted: “We lose 4-1 to PSG and Griezmann gets a private plane to go on holiday for a couple of days?”
Another added: “This will not go down with either the club or the public.”
And one user posted: “Of course they should have a day off. But travelling for anything other than work should not be allowed.”
Griezmann is also unlikely to have endeared himself further to the Barcelona faithful after he admitted at full-time he was pleased for his international teammate Mbappe following his sensational performance.
“I am happy for him,” he told RMC Sport. “He has been criticised a lot, but that is what happens when you are someone for a little while.
“As soon as he plays less well, we criticise him. It is quite easy.
“But I believe that PSG have a future star, one who will be on the level of Leo and Cristiano. He had a truly great match.”
Griezmann was also involved with an on-pitch spat with Gerard Pique during the game, and is certainly attracting a large deal of controversial headlines at the moment.
