Gregg Wallace baby: 'I was scared' Masterchef star speaks out after wife's birth to son

Masterchef host Gregg Wallace, 54, and his wife Anna, 33, have welcomed their first child after years of trying to conceive.

The Eat Well For Less and Masterchef star Gregg, 54, admitted he was worried for his spouse and their baby during the birth.

He told OK! Magazine: “I don’t know if it’s because it took us so long to conceive or perhaps it’s because I’m older, but I was scared for their health.

“I could have hugged the doctors,” he added.

“I saw him take his first breath, it was just beautiful. I looked at him and thought he was perfect.”

Anna, real name Anne-Marie, fell pregnant last summer and announced the news back in November.

Gregg added to the publication: “We were due to start IVF but then it happened naturally after two years of trying.

“The doctor told us it was a miracle Anna was pregnant.”

The couple, who married in 2016, met via Twitter when she approached him for advice about a rhubarb recipe.

Speaking of the unlikely meeting, he said: “What were the chances of meeting someone, who not only had what I had to offer but had, in abundance, what I was looking for.

“Love is a complete game of chance,” he added.

Anna went on to say she was open with the host about wanting a baby from the start.

And given the couple’s 22-year age gap, the professional chef said they have agreed on only having the one child.

Gregg is also a parent to son Tom and his daughter Libby, who he shares with his ex-wife Denise.

During Anna’s pregnancy, Gregg shared snaps of his wife showcasing her blossoming bump.

Back in January, Gregg shared an off-guard picture of Anna laying on a bed in cosy pyjamas.

In view of his 26,000 followers, he wrote: “Mrs Wallace and Sid.”

Three months later, he gave his fans an update and showed his wife relaxing while touching her bump.

One fan commented: “Good luck Gregg.”

A second added: “Beautiful lady and baby bump xx.”

Following the birth of his third child, Gregg admitted he enjoyed an evening out with friends including John Torode and racked up a bill costing over £2000.
