Greg Rutherford may have wanted to successfully nail his interview with BBC Breakfast via video link, but his kids, well, they had other ideas.

The Olympic medallist appeared on the show from his home, via video, on Saturday morning to discuss how he has been keeping his children active while being forced to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

New lockdown measures have seen schools close as people are urged to stay indoors in a bid to try and control the spread of Covid-19.

Greg is dad to two sons Milo, six, and Rex, two, whom he shares with wife Susie, and they decided to make a little appearance mid-way through Greg’s interview, with him frantically trying to get them to leave him be.

Spolier alert: it didn’t work.

Nope, instead poor Greg was trying to speak but was left a little distracted when Milo and Rex started jumping on the bed behind him.

Mid-conversation he apologised as his boys came running into the room.

‘Sorry, they’re now running in,’ Greg said, as he tried to continue: ‘With the children trying to keep them active and them busy is obviously hugely important. Just keeping it fun… I am sorry.’

As one of the boys tried to hand him something, Greg, getting a little frustrated, said: ‘Yeah ok, thank you… I am sorry.’

Spending most of the time apologising and trying not to laugh when the boys started jumping in the background, it’s clear Greg wasn’t left too impressed.

We, as viewers, however, loved every minute.

With rules now in place restricting movement, many celebs have now found themselves in isolation at home and having to complete videos via video link.

Like Greg, Michelle Keegan was left a little red-faced when her dog Phoebe gate-crashed her interview live on This Morning and The One Show descended into all sorts of chaos when Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins skyped the studio.

Of course, the chat was as innuendo filled as you’d expect and Mel was seen crawling through the ‘secret nooks’ in her home, which Patrick Kielty mistook as her boiler cupboard.

Who knew video calling could be so much fun?
