ITV today (Friday, July 12) has officially confirmed Grantchester season five, though the broadcaster has not revealed its start date yet. Robson Green will be back as Geordie Keating to lead the Grantchester series five cast, which also stars Tom Brittney after he took over from James Norton in the last series. Grantchester season five now has a plot synopsis, though no trailer has been released yet for the ITV show.
When will Grantchester season 5 air?
The release date for Grantchester season five has not been confirmed by ITV.
However, they have revealed that the series will start shooting this summer in Cambridgeshire.
The last three seasons of Grantchester have all aired in the first quarter of the year, so season five is expected to follow suit in 2020.
Grantchester season five will have six episodes, which will air weekly on ITV.
Who is in the cast of Grantchester season 5?
Robson Green and Tom Brittney will be back to lead the cast as DI Georgie Keating and Will Davenport respectively.
Tom Brittney replaced star James Norton in the previous series of the ITV hit.
Though only Green and Brittney are confirmed for Grantchester season five, other cast members who are expected to return include Mrs Chapman (played by Tessa Peake-Jones), Leonard Finch (Al Weaver) and Cathy Keating (Kacey Ainsworth).
