Grammy nominations 2020: Full list of shortlisted artists, from Lizzo to Billie Eilish

The nominations for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards have been announced, with Lizzo and Billie Eilish sweeping the big four categories.

The list of potential winners at the 2020 ceremony was announced live by Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys, Recording Academy president Deborah Dugan, and chair of the Board of Trustees Harvey Mason Jr.

Keys will also return as host for next year’s awards.

Seventeen-year-old Billie Eilish received a nod in each of the top four categories: Song of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Record of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Album of the Year (When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?) and Best New Artist, as did Lizzo, for her album Cuz I Love You and her hit song “Truth Hurts”.

Taylor Swift received a Song of the Year nod for the title track from her seventh album, Lover, and for Best Pop Vocal performance for “You Need to Calm Down” but received a dramatic omission from the Album of the Year category. It was widely expected she would gain a nomination, after being snubbed for Reputation at the 2019 awards.

British newcomer Lewis Capaldi also received a Song of the Year nomination, for his mega-hit single “Someone You Loved”, which is currently at number one in the US for the third consecutive week.

Arguably some of the more surprising nominees in the Album of the Year category include Vampire Weekend for their album Father of the Bride, Bon Iver for i, i, and Lil Nas X for 7.
