READY, steady, shop – our favourite stores have finally flung open their doors.

But before you rush to the tills, don’t forget to keep an eye out for a bargain or two.

Here are my tips for how to save some pounds as the high streets start to get busy again.

Coffee fix: I’ve really missed my daily coffee stop, so I couldn’t have been happier when I got my hands on Pret’s £20 for 20 coffees card.

If you haven’t got yours yet, you have until June 30. Just head on into your local Pret and ask to buy the card. It means you can get 20 coffees for just £1 each — which is a huge saving. Plus, it’s not just for basic coffee, you can also get tea or an iced coffee.

Homeware: Wilko is currently offering up to 50 per cent off homeware. I like the Symmetry Blossom duck egg double duvet set. It’s on sale for £8, down from £14. That’s a bargain. You can also get up to 30 per cent off homeware at Debenhams.

Clothing: Debenhams also has up to 50 per cent off clothing, including womens- wear, menswear and kidswear. If you are quick enough, you might also grab a bargain at Sainsbury’s — it is having a Tu clothing sale where you can get up to 70 per cent off.

One shop fits all: TK Maxx is celebrating opening its doors by slashing prices across its stores. You can grab homeware, clothing and furniture for hugely reduced prices. Savvy shoppers have taken to Facebook to share their bargains. One lucky customer found a fantastic grey bar stool for just £9, down from £99.

Another mum managed to get £263 worth of kids’ toys, clothing and homeware for just £51.

Check out your local TK Maxx to see what bargains you can find.

  • Prices correct at time of going to press. Deals and offers subject to availability.
