Gordon Ramsay and his family may have faced backlash for heading to their second home in Cornwall to spend lockdown, but they’re too busy brushing off their critics.

The celebrity chef’s wife Tana, 45, and their son, Jack, 20, took a break from quarantine to get some fresh air by the coast.

The pair were seen heading out for a run on Polzeth beach, that has been closed to the public during lockdown, with the exception of people heading out for their once a day exercise.

Tana was seen donning her gym gear and a baseball cap as she jogged in the sunshine alongside Jack and the family’s pet pup.

The duo seemed to be without the rest of the Ramsay clan, who are currently bunking down together in Gordon’s £4million beachfront property.

Jack is believed to live at the home in Cornwall full time and has now been joined by Gordon and Tana, and their other children Megan, 22, Holly, 20, Matilda, 18 and little Oscar, who recently turned one.

A friend of the family’s responded to criticism Gordon faced for bringing his family to Cornwall during the lockdown and branded it ‘hurtful and unnecessary’.

According to The Sun, local residents had hit out at Gordon for heading to his second home in the area from London and risking potentially spreading coronavirus as a result.

Locals reportedly left messages in a private Facebook group called You Should Not Be Here, with one post reading: ‘Wealthy second homers think making a few quid means they are immune from the virus and any rules. They are arrogant at this best of times, this has shown how bad some of them are.’

However, a friend close to Gordon and his family told Metro.co.uk that the Ramsays ‘spend most of their time’ in Cornwall, as they use the property as their ‘family home’.

‘The family see Cornwall as their family home when the kids are back from uni and Gordon back from filming around the world,’ they explained.

‘It’s where they spend all their family time together, they’ve been spending time there for 10 years and Jack actually lives in the house there full time too.’

The friend added: ‘Most of their neighbours are so welcoming and they love being part of the community.

‘They’ve been following the government advice, along with the rest of the country, since they arrived on 20 March and the campaign against them is hurtful and unnecessary at a time when we should all be coming together and supporting each other.’
